Naked Ambition

Bunny Yeager was a trailblazing model, designer, and photographer who popularized the bikini, invented the selfie, discovered Bettie Page, and introduced feminist agency in pin-ups and sexy pictures in the ’50s. With the testimonies of cultural icons that include photographer Bruce Weber, Dita Von Teese, and Larry King, the film portrays the evolution of women’s autonomy through the use of her extraordinary archive. 

Yeager’s story takes us back to an era when the female body was both an object of desire and a strictly controlled social symbol. In her photographs, however, the camera became a means through which women could decide for themselves how they wanted to be seen. The film explores how Yeager pushed the boundaries between eroticism, art, and self- expression, and how her work reflects a broader shift in the perception of women — from objects to subjects with the right to define their own bodies and images.
