Big Girls Don't Cry
Big Girls Don't Cry
14-year-old Sid Bookman spends the summer of 2006 in the small New Zealand beach town of Ōmaha, standing on the cusp of childhood and adulthood. Desperately seeking the approval of older girls and a sense of belonging, Sid starts to imitate those she wants to be like. Parties, lies, MSN, text messages, sexual curiosity and first crushes lead her into a world where adulthood seems both alluring and dangerous at the same time. In her quest to understand who she ultimately desires and who she really is, Sid becomes increasingly entangled in the expectations of others, until the line between finding herself and losing herself becomes increasingly blurred.
Suitable for ages 12 and above.
