Mano Destra

Mano Destra is a 1986 Swiss lesbian S&M experimental film written, directed by and starring Cleo Übelmann. Shot in black&white on 16mm film, Mano Destra is a study of erotic objectification which depicts Uebelmann as a dominatrix tying a woman in a series of bondage acts. The narrative unfolds slowly through precise framing of ropes, light, and shadows. The film features no dialogue, relying entirely on visual composition, restraint, and an atmospheric electro-wave soundtrack by the Swiss group The Vyllies.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Alina (@entangledwitch), an experienced shibari (rope bondage) instructor and performer who explores rope binding as a sensual and embodied practice.
