The Revenant

Püha Sõprus in September is dedicated to the 'Three amigos' of Hollywood as they call themselves: Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu, Guillermo del Toro and Alfonso Cuarón. We have an extra screening outside the Püha-Sõprus-hours as an opportunity arose to show our audience the film where Leonardo DiCaprio has to fight with a bear in order to get his first Academy Award. This is "The Revenant", ladies and gentlemen.

While on a hunting expedition in the American wilderness, Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) is brutally savaged by a bear and left for dead. Fuelled by a thirst for revenge following the betrayal of his confidant (Tom Hardy), Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit of survival and retribution. A decade ago The Revenant stormed screens in a cinematic blizzard of glory, sweeping top honours at the 88th Academy Awards including Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Actor for DiCaprio. It is a truly stunning modern masterpiece unmissable on Tallinn's most unique screen.
