Culture vs War

“CULTURE VS WAR” is an artistic study about Ukrainian artists who defend the country and create new meanings of Ukrainian culture. Artists protected and preserved Ukrainian culture for centuries. And now they stand side by side with all citizens.

The “CULTURE VS WAR” project is the voice of creators who retain the ability to feel and act bravely despite all the horrors of war.

The documentary “Culture vs War”  is directed by Kadim Tarasov, produced by the Association of Cinema Promotion and Assistance in Ukraine – Watch Ukrainian!).

The film “Culture vs War” features well-known artists who have joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as cultural figures actively engaged in volunteer work. The full-length documentary brings together the stories of: Serhii Mykhalchuk (cinematographer, serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine), Akhtem Seitablaiev (director, actor, serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine), Serhii Zhadan (writer, musician, volunteer), Taras Kompanichenko (kobzar, serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine), Antytila (musicians, paramedics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine), Kostiantyn Liberov and Vlada Liberova (photographers, war documentarians), Mykhailo Illienko (film director, volunteer), Dmytro Linartovych (actor, serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine), Yevhen Nyshchuk (actor, Minister of Culture of Ukraine 2014–2019, serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine), and Yaroslav Pilunskyi (cinematographer, serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine).
