Alejandro Jodorowsky is an unclassifiable writer, scriptwriter for both film and graphic novels, essayist, poet, mystic and inventor of the concept of psychomagic. He chose his own life (an imaginary autobiography) as a topic for his welcome comeback on film scene after 23 years.

Jodorowsky stood out in cinema as a director of the cult films “El topo” (1970) and “The Holy Mountain” (1973), serious box office hitters. In “The Dance of Reality” first scene, he appears himself on screen reciting a poem with bizarre associations: comparing money to blood, Christ and Buddha and so on. From that very first moment we realize the ingredients that made him king of the midnight movie stardom during many years remain intact.
In 130 minutes we have enough time for an adventure bigger than life, a rich a bizarre imagery, and many visually audacious eccentricities. A dictator-manner strong father, a beloved operatic verse singer mother and many other companies in a trip which brings us from Fellini to Todd Brown, from Buñuel to Kusturica, from surrealistic nostalgia to B-movie, to unique rather mould-breaker Jodorowsky.
We have just one choice as spectator, sign your surrender, free your mind, be light on your feet, and let yourself be driven in this tragic, gloriously entertaining during many moments, almost cartoonish during others, playful story. A delicious delirium, a delirious delight.
