The film "Dante", directed by Pupi Avati, tells about the life of the poet Dante Alighieri through the eyes of the writer Giovanni Boccaccio.
The year is 1350. Dante Alighieri is posthumously pardoned by the city of Florence, and Boccaccio is ordered to deliver ten gold florins as symbolic compensation to his only surviving daughter, Beatrice, a nun living in Ravenna. On his journey, Boccaccio meets people who knew Dante or witnessed his death. On the way, several exciting meetings, memories and setbacks await him.
