Spanish Civil War (1936–1939). On the front, a group of soldiers just write letters or doze. But tranquility is broken when an enemy’s loudspeaker announces that, on the occasion of the Virgin of August, a bullfight will be held in a nearby town. Five fighters from the Republican side decide to steal the heifer to ruin the enemy’s party and to get the food they need.
