On June 27, the sequel to the classic post-apocalyptic zombie thrillers “28 Days Later” (2002) and “28 Weeks Later” (2007), “28 Years Later,” will be released in theatres.
But before “28 Years Later” premiers, Sõprus will be showing the first and second films in the trilogy on two consecutive nights before the premiere.
Synopsis:
A group of animal rights activists invade a Cambridge laboratory where very aggressive chimpanzees infected with the “rabies virus” live. Despite the scientists’ warning, the activists free one of the chimpanzees. The monkey attacks its liberators and in just a few seconds, they are infected one after the other with the virus, which soon spreads across Britain and results in a complete social collapse.
28 days after the incident, mailman Jim (Cillian Murphy) wakes up from a coma in a London hospital. To his surprise, all of London is deserted. The truth soon becomes clear - the city is ruled by "rage" infected zombies, in fear of whom all healthy people have fled. Jim decides to leave London with a couple of healthy companions he has just met. Their goal is to head to Manchester, where there is rumored to be a group of healthy people who will provide protection against the infected.

The most anticipated event of the year for horror and zombie film fans. Three screenings on three consecutive evenings.
On 27 June, the long-awaited sequel to the post-apocalyptic zombie thrillers "28 Days Later"(2002) and "28 Weeks Later" (2007) will finally hit cinemas – "28 Years Later".
The film is directed by British maestro and Academy Award-winner Danny Boyle, who also directed the first film in the trilogy. Having previously worked as a producer on the second instalment, Boyle now returns to the director’s chair, bringing with him some serious creative firepower – co-writer Alex Garland and actor-producer Cillian Murphy.
Before "28 Years Later" premieres, Sõprus will present special screenings of the first and second films on the two preceding evenings.
This is a rare opportunity to experience the earlier chapters on the big screen once more, especially as "28 Days Later" was, until the end of last year, unavailable on streaming platforms due to rights issues. Now, the entire trilogy is being shown exclusively at the Sõprus cinema.
