The protagonist of Jan Erik Nõgisto’s and Katrin Maimik’s film “PHOTO” is a woman called Maarit who is in her thirties and lives with her spiteful and manipulative father. Maarit devotes all her time and energy to taking care of her disabled father which has prevented her from leading a normal life of a young woman. She has not forged any serious relationships with the opposite sex and she has no children. However, the biological clock is ticking ruthlessly. One day, Maarit meets a 9-year-old boy called Rainer. The two develop a strange relationship.

Andres Maimik’s and Katrin Maimik’s film “HÕBEPULM” (“SILVER WEDDING”) is a tragicomic story of a middle-aged couple who decide to celebrate their forthcoming silver wedding anniversary on a grand scale. They dust off the old wedding dress and squeeze the bride into it, despite it almost bursting at the seams. Everything seems to run smoothly at first but the flawless façade starts to crumble at the party and years of suppressed conflicts, fears and complexes come to light.
