Uku Õunapuu, Hele-Mai Vettik, Monica Vejgaard and improvisation students, Interrupted paths (length: 15 mins) is a live digital sound drawing, communication between visual and sound, exchange of ideas and patterns, constant flows and sudden interruptions. In this project digital drawing pads are used for live interactive collective drawing, musicians are getting impulses of drawing projected on the cinema screen while constantly changing soundscape is influencing visual artists. The process creates a growing interaction and feedback chain that can be observed and perceived directly by the audience.
Kenneth Flak, Matter Matters (2023, premiere, length: 15 mins) is a study for Estonian/Norwegian dance and media artist duo Roosna & Flak's upcoming performance Feeding Ouroboros. Inspired by the mythical snake that eats its own tail, Flak investigates cycles and feedback loops between movement, sound, and visuals. The piece is a part of Roosna & Flak's ongoing research into creating performance ecosystems, where movement sensors attached to the performers' limbs trigger and control audiovisual events.
Natalia Wójcik, Life Waters Flow from the Darkness (2023, premiere, length: 17 mins), is an animation-screening and performance hybrid for Wójcik’s graduation project. The piece refers to the Jungian concept of the shadow and Wójcik’s journey of exploring it for her own sake - from the distorted representation of herself, through the resistance to accept what’s seemingly unacceptable, to the inevitable need of eventually embracing the darkness. “Life Waters Flow from the Darkness” is about coming towards the light viewed through the lens of being a woman.
