“Father” masterfully depicts the psychological torment of a young father through an unflinching close-up camera. It is an incredibly well-acted and harrowing film about lifelong guilt, false memories and learning to live again after a tragedy.
This is one of five film projects from last year that PÖFF presented at the Marché du Film in Cannes, one of the world’s largest film markets, to introduce it to sales agents, distributors, and festival programmers.
“Father” had its world premiere in the Orizzonti section at the Venice International Film Festival and was selected as the Slovak entry for the Best International Feature Film at the Academy Awards.
